I have owned two of these previously. I bought my first 13 years ago and then bought another from a friend who no longer needed hers 8 years ago. I used it at least 5 days a week until recently. It had two problems. The worst problem was the swivel wheels which had ball bearings which would eventually fall out and could only be replaced with the same poorly designed ones from the manufacturer. On my first case I had to drill large holes to be able to insert new threaded swivel wheels to the case. This new one came with swivel wheels already on threaded rod which will be much easier to replace. Another problem was the handle which after being used for a long time had enlarged the holes where it attached to the case so the handle would constantly fall out. The new handle won't twist which was what caused it to come out of the case, has a much better way for the handle to fit onto the case and the holes are now reinforced. Another problem was the zipper on the old cases. On my first case I had to put safety pins to keep the zipper from going off the track. This new one has a larger and better zipper. The new one also has extra pockets on both ends, a pad on the handle bar and a pad to protect your laptop. These are substantial improvements if you use this case the way I did for moving a laptop, lunch plus lots of other stuff to and from my studio almost everyday as well serving as my carry on for airline trips, my storage unit at shows and my constant traveling companion. This is the best small carry-on case I have ever seen. It holds a remarkable amount of stuff and with bungy cords you can pile even large boxes on top. What I like the most is that it rolls on 4 wheels instead of 2 so you are not holding it up just pulling it. The difference is amazing especially on carpeted surfaces. It collapses for storage but I am either using it daily or I keep it packed all the time with my travel stuff so I have rarely collapsed it. For the past year or so, as my second case started to drag because the wheels were failing again I considered replacing it but resisted when I looked at the photos and saw the same tiny wheels. So I was so pleased with the improvements that I just had to write this review.Problem #l: The bag was supposed to come with a bungee it didn't. #2: I'll have had to oil the wheels twice in less than two months, which would make sense if I were lining in NYC and dragging the bag 20 blocks daily. I live in Ohio and I work at a large university. I drag this thing 2 blocks over paved sidewalks each way to and from my car daily with only the occasional Cross-Campus trek. Problem #3 Also... this bag is not terribly waterproof, (I've created an oilcloth rain-coat for it for about $10 Worth of Velcro and oilcloth, which looks pretty danged good! But I'm only taking it outside for two blocks.. So...unless I am walking through hurricane Katrina, I should not need to have done this... but I had to.Some great things: #1 The bag is allowing me to Carry about 25 lbs of laptop, technology, textbooks, and paperwork without backache! AND I can place another bag or the occasional 12 pack of or 2 of diet coke on top of it, to carry to my office!. #2 I gotta bag because I will be spending about six months working in a different office every weekday (MWF office 1) T-H office 2) with a paperwork, textbook and electronics intensive gig! This bag and a system of color coded plastic envelopes has kept my ADHD-self organized and functioning. 3. The company does sell replacement parts for almost every part of the bag (wheels, bungee, handle, etc.) and I will be investing in them for the future, because despite my frustrations, which I feel are legitimate, this is the only bag I've had that has let me stay organized, and be physically able to carry everything that I want to have with me. But, it Is NOT low maintenence!!!!!One last thing, This bag, and its larger luggage Cousins, with some tweaks and some better marketing really could be MUCH more popular than it is. Perhaps the folks at Scotte-vest should partner with this company. This product line could benefit greatly from Scottevest's management style (commitment to quality, design AND smart brand management).Overall, I really like the design of this product. This has come closest to my perfect mobile office. The center compartment is easily accessible. I have plenty of room for two laptops two or three spiral notebooks and some files. The side compartments have sufficient room for all my accessories and extras. Excellent construction. The only problem for me is the handle. I wish I could lock it in an upright position so I don’t have to keep reaching down to get it. Also I can see how the handle’s connection to the bag could loosen overtime, as is pointed out in other reviews. Finally, if I had to do it again I would probably get the 17 inch rather than the 20 inch. I think I could hold everything I need in the smaller bag. FYI, I gave it four stars if I could I would give it a 4 1/2.I took the time to search and read comments, and I kept coming back to this TUTTO, both for the weight and size, but also for the workmanship and its professional appearance. I could not be happier with this TUTTO. Because I deal with the negative effects of Fibromyalgia, this purchase was of additional importance to me, due to the weight of textbooks, etc.I am currently teaching a CNA class via Adult Education at night, and the photos I am sharing show what I must carry with me to each class, which are very heavy.I have a small portable first aid kit and CPR mask that I placed in one end pocket (just in case) and at the opposite end holds my laptop charger. Because I have the Lenovo Yoga specifically for my adult education classes, the attachments necessary for a television and projector are being stored in one of the side pockets. A ThirtyOne tote bag will sit perfectly on top to hold items needed during for lecture, lab and/or clinical.I am in contact with a woman on Etsy who will be making me a waterproof cover for the added protection of the books and my paperwork during bad weather.a gift for my wife and we looked hard for this. she uses it as an artist's supply case; markers, pens, pencils, finished drawings, various paper pads all fit in here. well made and worth the money. the tutto line is something worth checking out, they have something for everyone. really well thought out designs, strong, lightweight, clean lines, gorgeous.Huge bag, seems sturdy...no problems at allLove this! Tons of room.
